On Friday 19 August Big Zulu dropped an industry-wide diss track which took a dig at Mr Cashtime himself, the likes of Cassper Nyovest, AKA and others. K.O Explains Why He Responded To Big Zulu’s Diss Track

The rapper went on hard on Big Zulu with heavy punchlines, but he has recently explained why he decided to respond that way. During an interview with Slikour on The UnPlug S2, K.O was asked what triggered him to respond to a seventh generational hit rapper in Big Zulu.

“I think for me thinking about it, where I come from before getting into this whole music thing like officially we come from cyphers and all that stuff,” he said. “We’re from that generation we got away from that club, I must be honest ever since I became professional, whether Teargas all the way till now I had never actually done the local combat.”

K.O went on to say that he didn’t view Big Zulu as a lesser being than himself, which is why he decided to respond. However, he had been criticized for not responding in the past, so he thought it appropriate to reply to the 150 Bars diss track.

“It didn’t matter to me, the person he is, like whether he started popping just like a couple of years ago and now I feel like, If I feel like he is inferior to me, he is still a credible guy he’s, he’s a self-made man and, he got pull he’s got stature, so he is basically calling me out as a man,” he said.

He went on to say; “having certain situations before where I was called out but I never did anything about it I felt like this one I had to go about in a different way.” K.O went on to say that the timing of the diss track was ideal because he was in the middle of working on his SR3 album and was in the right frame of mind to respond.

“The time was perfect because he called me on album mode I was able to turn out the record in a matter of like 24 hours,” he said. “For the sport, for the culture, I think it was important for me just to make that like a teachable moment.
