How is Jay Dog Beats doing?

I am doing great thanks.

When did you get into music?

I started making beats in 2010 but not on a professional level yet but I kept on pushing.

Where do you draw inspiration from?

Mostly by listening to old school hip hop and what people like to hear in general.

When did you know you wanted to be a music producer?

It was in 2014 when I really decided that this is what I want to be.

What motivated you to get in this side of the music business?

The love for good music and my old friend dj Uncarl  he motivated me all the time to keep on making beats it will pay of one day.

Was there a song or artist in particular that inspired you to be a producer?

The time I listened to  Snoop Doggs Doggy Style album and Dr Dre’s Chronic album I wanted to be a producer.

What inspired the Bae Coupe beat?

I wanted the beat to sound  the same as the international songs from the moment I started working on it.

Did you know it was special when you initially made it?

Yes! That’s why I kept it for almost a year for the right artist.

How did the opportunity of having stars like Ricky and Ice Prince rapping on your beat come about?

I got in touch with Ice Prince’s management team in 2014 but I didn’t send them beats instantly. And then 2 months ago I decided to send them 3 beats and Ice Prince replied the same day with a reference for Bae Coupe.

Which artists are you currently working with?

Emmy Gee & Dj Speedsta.

What are your thoughts on the current state of the game?

The game at the moment is o.k for me because I’ve worked hard and most know I’m new but if u r new you going to need some luck because it’s not easy to get great artists on tracks.

Given the opportunity which one rapper would you love to produce for?

I would love to produce for Cassper Nyovest.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I see myself winning lots of awards and to be known as a great producer all over Africa.

Be your self,  don’t let no one change your sound or take your creativity away and never stop dreaming.
