In this interview AKA talks to Business Day about his experiences this year and also shows us how smart he is through his witty speech. The Supa Mega also spoke about branding and how you can shift people’s perception by how you perceive yourself. He also talks about how weird it was to be in a place where the people don’t recognize African artists .
Being at the BET’s showed AKA how unappreciated you can be outside of the continent and how appreciated the African artists are on the continent. Mr Forbes talks about how the African category is announced during rehearsals.
AKA says he has learnt that he can’t please everyone and he cares about what people who have met him think about him.
“I don’t want to call myself King of SA Hip Hop because I have respect for those who came before me” says AKA.
