K.O Scheduled To Tour East Africa, Get Involved In CSI Work And More

The multi award-winning artist K.O with hit singles ‘Caracara’, ‘Son of a Gun’, ‘No Fear’, ‘Skhanda Love’, ‘One time’ is set to tour East Africa from the 14th to the 20th of September 2015. In his tour the artist will look into forming collaborations with Tanzanian and Kenyan artists. K.O has already collaborated with leading female Tanzanian artist Vanessa Mdee in their hit song “Aint No Body”. He will use his stay in Dar es Salam and Nairobi to tour various media houses, perform live, get involved in CSI work, and host artists talk back sessions where he will share his story and business moves with artists and various stakeholders within the music industry.

This is K.O’s first tour of East Africa as part of his Skhanda Republic Africa tour. He is expected to visit other parts of the continent later in the year. Thecontinent is a buzz with great talent, new sounds and energy and African artists are not just gaining international recognition but also using music to unite the continent and K.O seeks to b part of this African sound revolution. The internationally acclaimed performer is considered to have birthed the new sound known as Skhanda and has received significant airplay from radio stations and television programs from across the continent with ‘Caracara’ receiving international recognition!

K.O is confirmed to showcase at Nairobi’s top hip hop event Nairobi Rapsody (17th Sept 2015) at Ebony Lounge, Westlands, with Kenyan rapper King Kaka (Rabbit) slated as K.O’s main supporting act. He will be also be guest at Kenya’s Storymoja Festival (18th Sept 2015) at Nairobi Arboretum at an Artist Talk Back event on the discussion: to what extent does music (hip hop) define the African narrative.

Ahead of his anticipated arrival, K.O says, “I’m excited to be traveling to East Africa for the very time as an artists and representing SA Hip Hop. I’ve heard great things about the love and support this part of the continent has for my music and now it’s time for me to strengthen my connection with my fans out there and to formally introduce myself to the beautiful East African community. Definitely planning to release some of my futures projects there soon and looking forward to working with the much talented acts from this region.”

K.O was voted MTV’s Hottest MC (SA) in 2014 then early this year BBC 1Xtra’s DJ Edu tipped him as one of the 10 African artists to watch in 2015. K.O then went on to bag three South African Music Awards and simultaneously making history when ‘Caracara’ became the first song to win record of the year.
