AKA’s “Lemons Lemonade” Ft Nasty C Certified 5x Platinum. AKA marked his comeback to the SA hip-hop space following a long hiatus. Lemons Lemonade received mixed comments upon its release, with some disparaging it, but with time, the ears grew to feel at ease with the new Mega sound. It is sad that the Supa Mega is not around to witness the magic touch he imposed on his Mass Country album and its lead single Lemons Lemonade.

Taking to Twitter, the slain rapper’s distribution company Vth Season announced with a heavy heart that AKA‘s Lemons Lemonade featuring Nasty has been certified 5x Platinum. “With a heavy heart we announce Lemons to Lemonade by @akaworldwide @Nasty_CSA is 5 x PLATINUM with 12mil streams+ We wish to thank every listener, fan& MEGACY and all the creative talent. You helped make a MASTERPIECE & you have made Kiernan very proud #AKAforever#masscountry,” read the tweet.

Despite the fact that AKA was present to witness the first splendour of the single’s triumph after it went Gold, 5x Platinum was going to be even more amazing given that the rapper had a Mass Country album tour planned for around this time.

AKA was shot and killed along with his friend Tibz outside the Wish Restaurant on Durban’s Florida Road. The police are yet to make significant arrests as it has been revealed that they are making progress on the AKA and Tibz murder case.

For now, the Megacy are still pushing for their greatest rapper and his friend to get the justice they deserve. The JusticeForAKA hashtag has not lost its momentum especially now that the Metro FM Awards are looming large in a week’s time. AKA was nominated 6 times for Metro FM Awards and his fans have been up in arms voting for the slain rapper’s landslide victory.
