Nasty C Elaborates On His Lyric From ‘There They Go’ “I Sign Deals But I Own My Soul”. Nasty C has worked his way up to being one of the few rappers who have been successful in an International market. The rapper’s music has travelled from Durban to Los Angeles and other cities across the world. He also bagged himself a deal with Def Jam Records.

Nasty C recently featured on Off The Porch where he was interviewed about his album Zulu Man With Some Power, blowing up in the SA music scene as well as explaining a little bit about the Zulu Culture in South Africa The interviewer mentioned that she was reading the rapper’s bio and it said “I sign deals but I own my soul” which is also a lyric he raps in his single There They Go. She asked him to explain a bit about what that meant.

He mentioned that it means that he signs good business deals but he doesn’t let them change the person that he is.

“It just means I sign deals, I make good business deals but I don’t let it change me or the person I am or the way I work or nothing like that. I don’t get too carried away and become this image that… whatever they think I’m gonna become. A lot of people sign and they change completely, and they start to get out of touch with like their true core fan base. I’m not that type of dude, I’m still me.” He explained.

Toward the end of the interview he mentioned that he has some music coming out soon but didn’t want to spoil any of the features. He also said that he had just finished shooting a music video for an upcoming track titled Jack that fans should be on the look out for.
