Why Are You Burning An Institution You Want Free Education From? Blaklez Asks Protesting Students
Last week we saw university students start protests when news about the fees hike broke. Several A-list celebrities went out to protest with the students including Yanga, Chad Da Don, AKA, KiD X and many more. The protest was a confirmed success when Jacob Zuma came out to make the fees announcement which followed a meeting between the president, varsity student representative councils, vice chancellors, representatives of national student organisations and members of university councils after a week of #FeesMustFall protests at campuses across South Africa.
“Why are you burning an institution you want free education from?” Blaklez asks protesting students who have lit several small fires around the institution. This does not sound like the smartest thing to do when fighting for a fees decrease.
