“Y’all gross me out with your sexism. Turning Hip Hop into a SAUSAGE festival” Says Toya Delazy

Misogyny has been deeply ingrained in the Hip Hop genre for years and in SA we see femcee’s who are constantly speaking out against this. Gigi Lamayne deliberately didn’t run for the Best Female award because she wants to be recognized as a rapper not a “female rapper” and this is a testament to the fact that femcee’s are feeling like they are being marginalized.

“#SAHHAS disgust me! females basically don’t exist in South African hip hop ? how are yall not recognizing chicks and only nominate 2 !?” Toya delazy said on Twitter. “#SAHHA2015 y’all gross me out with your sexism. Turning Hip Hop into a SAUSAGE festival. You should be ashamed” Toya continued to rant.
