While the indie route isn’t necessarily the effortless path, it does afford artists the liberty to express their creativity without constraints. Nonetheless, being an independent artist also presents its own set of challenges, which artists continually endeavour to navigate.

Turning to Twitter (X), Jay Jody generously offers advice to indie artists, aiding them in navigating the demanding music industry landscape fraught with pressure from media, record labels, and social platforms. “Dear indie artist, Don’t let major labels, their industry plants, captured media houses, radio, tv and paid social media make you feel like you’re not doing enough,” wrote Jay Jody.

“2017 now we say we going on our own,” he started. “Risky, very risky, because what’s the plan? We have it, but how sure are we that it’s gonna work?”

“We made the decision in the club. We were in the club, we made the decision.” After Zingah asked what sparked the decision” Jay Jody said.
