“I had no friends in Primary school so I was always just writing a lot” Says Nasty C

Nasty C finished Metric and decided to chase his dreams even though his father was not convinced that he was doing the right thing. The rapper says if the music had failed his dad was probably not going to just take back in.

“I had no friends in Primary school so I was always just writing a lot and when I started getting compliments from big names that’s when I realised I was dope at it” said Nasty C about his growing as an artist. “I went to a really gangsta high school and I got protection from the big guys because they already listened to my music” said Nasty C.

“As I’m working on an album I’m scaling down on the features so I can sort of perfect the sound and then I can get back to collaborations” he explained about slowing down on the features. “When you have been doing music for over 5 years, when someone comes up with a new song you can pin what it sounds like but when it’s strange there is a different attraction to it.”

“I prefer to work alone man, I don’t like it when people are putting input into my work,” said Nasty. “I was at Da LES place with AKA & LES, it was such a good vibe but I don’t work like that but I didn’t want to disappoint such huge acts. I really didn’t like the verse, the song is out today and my verse is not on the song.”

“The best lyricists never blow because their lyrics go over regular people’s heads. Sometimes this makes it hard for me to make a song because my real fans love me because I’m lyrical” said the 19-year-old rap star.
