New Release: Puff Daddy – Auction Video [ft King Los, Lil Kim, Styles P]
The last time Puff Daddy made a pure, uncut hip-hop album intended for car stereos instead of techno-fried dance floors was back in 2001 – before mixtapes like 50 Cent Is the Future made his big-budget rap albums unfashionable, and before YouTube made his big-budget music videos unnecessary.
The Bad Boy breadwinner brings the visuals for “Auction” to the small screen. And right by his side are Lil Kim, Styles P, and King Los like it’s 97 all over again. The flows are hella dope and it definitely reminds me of the old days.
Directed by vet filmmaker Hype Williams, the original Bad Boy fam coordinated in all black in front of an all-white backdrop. With Diddy leading the way, the camera sits on the rappers as they deliver energized verses, dipped in big money swag.
