Following an announcement promoting South Africa’s own version of the worldwide successful Love & Hip Hop series, MTV Africa finally announced which local talents have been selected to be part of the cast of the upcoming TV reality program.

The inaugural season of the regional adaptation of the well-known international style Love & Hip Hop SA will star Da L.E.S., Gigi Lamayne, Fifi Cooper, and Shane Eagle. Fellow rappers Yanga Chief and DJ Speedsta will join them to round out the ensemble of the 13-part reality series, which will premiere on MTV Africa on February 27.

Taking to Twitter, FiFi Cooper did not hide her excitement after being included in one of the biggest TV reality shows in the world. The rapper humorously shared on Twitter that she is calling her PR team to include ‘Reality TV Star’ on her profile. “Me calling my PR Manager this morning on some… 😁: Ntate weh! Gigi Lamayne is another female SA rapper who also shared her excitement about being part of the adventure. The rapper said that there is a lot to look forward to as the fans will set to witness the Gigi Lamayne versus Fifi Cooper situation that has been the talking point in SA hip hop for some years.

“There’s a lot to look forward to. A highlight for me was confronting the Gigi Lamayne versus Fifi Cooper situation that has been looming for the longest time within South African Hip Hop when it comes to female rappers,” Gigi Lamayne said as per Sowetan Live.

“Apart from that, I have been a staunch follower of the franchise for the longest time, and I always imagined myself to be on the show, so I am very excited for this experience”.
