SA Hip Hop Mag 2016 Freshman Class

For the last 20 years or so, SA Hip Hop has been building up to this point and thank God we are finally here. The game has reached a point where rappers are eating and because of that the upcoming rappers are getting hungrier and hungrier. With that being said, we have decided to create a list of the SA Hip Hop Mag Freshman list 2016:

1. Nasty C

Nasty C is undoubtedly one of the most sought after collaborations in South African music right now. The rapper managed to showcase his skill and ability to make great music on his breakthrough mixtape titled Price City. Nasty C is set to take the game by storm this year since he will be releasing his debut album.

2. Yanga

Yanga freestyle

Yanga has been in the game for since the mid-2000’s. The fire flame spitter was working behind the camera for Skwatta Kamp but he always knew he was eventually going to be a rapper full-time which only materialised for him in 2014 after the release of Run Jozi.

3. A-Reece

A-Reece

A-Reece is no new face in SA Hip Hop but he has managed to get his breakthrough after he released his hit record titled ‘Couldn’t’ which feature his label mate Emtee. Reece has been rapping hard since he was a youngin and he is definitely going to take SA by storm.

4. Tweezy

Tweezy has been producing music since a young age and he became well known after the Supa Mega released his 2014 platinum selling album Levels. Tweezy has since expanded his footprint by releasing his own music and music video for a single titled Ambition.

5. Youngsta CPT

Youngsta has been in the game for a while now but he recently started getting traction in the mainstream. After the release of DJ Switches ‘Way It Go’, we saw the fans questioning whether the legendary Stogie T had been murdered by Youngsta on a record which goes to show how hard the homie goes.
