This style of Hip-Hop has been in existence since the days of Baphixile, Crowded Crew and Hip Hop Pantsula. Morafe brings a different element and sound not only to this type of music but also to the South African music scene. Morafe worked with producer wonderkid Thabiso “Thaso” Tsotetsi. The group is from Mafikeng, the same place that brought you Thaso and HHP. Morafe was conceived between 1994 / 95, after it changed its name to Morafe. In 2001 Morafe featured on HHPs 2nd album Maftown on the track called Ayoba. In 2003, again they made another appearance on HHPs 3rd O Mang on the tracks Maak Om, Raise it up and Danger. Morafe also wrote and composed a song on the soundtrack from the hit TV hit series Gazlam 2; a track called Jozi City Lights.
