With all the talk that South African hip hop is dead, rappers have gone all out to ensure that they dethrone the dominant Amapiano genre. 2022 is still in its early stages but we have already witnessed rappers putting projects in place with some new releases.

hip hop artists in South Ah have shown signs of dropping new music this year, but there are some who have come out in public to confirm they will releasing hip hop albums this year.  Here is a look at the rappers that are due to drop their body of works soon.

K.O

K.O has yet to deliver on his commitments to his fans. The rapper took to Twitter to inform his fans about the delays in the release of his album. K.O went on and promised that this year is the year that he will fullfil all the promises he made. “It’s on the album no? Release plans change all the time but 2022 is the year for all the promises made,” tweeted K.O.

Okmalumkoolkat

Okmalumkoolkat recently astounded his fans by announcing the release of his new album, uShukela eTiyeni. Okmalumkoolkat’s body of work is expected to be released in April but the rapper announced on his Instagram page for his fans to preorder the album. “Good morning. How’s it going? Ushukela Etiyeni Album Pre-Order available from the 4th of February 2022!” He announced.

Zoocci Coke Dope

Zoocci Coke Dope effectively released his debut album Anxiety in 2019 pulled a pleasant surprise for his fans. The acclaimed rapper and producer announced he will be releasing the deluxe album “Anxiety+” which is set to be released on February 25th, 2022.

The rapper announced the development of his project showing much appreciation to his family and friends who have shown him massive support. “LOVE TO MYSELF, MY FRiENDS AND MY BEAUTiFUL DAUGHTER FOR CLOSiNG THiS CHAPTER AND PULLiNG ME OUT OF THE DARKNESS. i MADE iT OUT THAT FiRE.” Wrote Zoocci.

Blaklez and PdotO

After the success of their joint album, ‘Lost Diamond‘ Blaklez took to social media and shared a picture of them in the studio with the caption ‘Lost Diamond 2.’ This did serve as verification that, remarkably, a sequel to the rap masterpiece will be released. “We’ll be done with Lost Diamonds 2 very soon. The space we’re in is “no misses,” tweeted Blaklez.
