Drake breaks Michael Jackson’s 32-year record for most American Music Award Nominations. Since the top of the year, Drake has been breaking records left and right with no signs of slowing down as he dethrones Michael Jackson’s American Music Award record for the most nominations.

The King of Pop previously held the mark with 11 nods in 1984 for Thriller and his popular classics “Beat It” and “Billie Jean” and he won all 11 of the awards.

The 6 God leads all 2016 American Music Awards nominees with 13 nods. He received selections in the categories for Artist of the Year, Favorite Male Artist, Favorite Rap Artist, Favorite Rap Song, Favorite R&B song, Favorite Rap/Hip Hop Album, Favorite Pop Album and Favorite Album for his multi-Platinum work VIEWS and joint Future album What A Time To Be Alive, among others.

Rihanna and the OVO boss’s collaborative single “Work” gets a few nods as well. RiRi comes in right behind Drizzy with 7 AMA nominations.

Drake is also slated to go up against his “Too Good” partner for Artist of the Year along with Adele, Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Twenty One Pilots, Carrie Underwood and former OVO affiliate The Weeknd.
