“The biggest of them all” – Blxckie Celebrates A Significant Landmark For ‘SETE.’ Following the release of the lead single Sete, K.O. proved that the veteran is who he thinks he is. The rapper released one of the biggest songs in his music career. Sete has broken many charts records and it’s currently trading at the number 1 spot for 18 weeks on the local radio chart.
As we head into the new year, Sete remains unshaken on as it cements its top spot on the music chart. Not only that, the SR3 album lead single has now scooped a significant landmark in the music industry. Taking to Twitter, Blxckie shared that the single has reached multi-platinum status. “HISTORY. the super multi platinum way. real life. SETE.” He tweeted.
The rapper also took his excitement to his Instagram story where he lamented that Sete has acquired the biggest landmark of them all. Somnyama said that he is elated to be on the good side of history following his contribution to SETE. “Another one added to the collection. the biggest of them all. glad to be part of it. HISTORY! Thank you @mrcashtime, @youngstunna_rsa, @sonymusicafrica,” he wrote.
Blxckie has made a significant appearance in the South African hip-hop industry, and the year 2022 has been a memorable one for him. The Durban native has dominated the hip-hop industry with a solid discography that includes many hits with over a million streams.
His achievements were recently recognized at a ceremony last year in which he received ten musical plaques. Somnyama earned the following plaques: a double platinum award for “Kwenzekile” ft. Madumane and “Chang Cello”, “Ye 4” feat. Nasty C, “Big Time Sh’lappa” feat. Lucasraps and “Hold”.
Gold awards for the following singles for “Sika”, “David”, “Joy” Ft. Oxlade, Umoya, “Cold” and for his “B4Now” deluxe album. Heading into 2023, Blxckie is already back in the studio and is ready to give SA hip-hop lovers the best of his raps. The rapper has lined up a collaboration with Emtee on a song that we might be treated to very soon.
