Hip Hop My personal Savior highlight the impacts and experiences this culture has brought up. without any doubt or hesitation, hip hop is everyone’s corner to mirror utmost expressions. Every artist has a story to tell, and it all depends how one uses his medium to express his or her inner self to the fullest. Hip Hop has more power than other denomination for real fam! For instance, Just look at religion right now and spare me your opinion. Seemingly, from afar, you can tell that what was meant to bring nations together, now scatters like crazy. Unlike in hip hop community where we shares and cherish our identity to the fullest, lifestyle, attitudes, talks, walks etc.

unquestionably, Hip hop has saved many people’s lives.I wouldn’t be writing this article if it wasn’t for hip hop! If it wasn’t for those Hip Hop pioneer’s such as DJ Kool Herc, Afrika Bambataa, J Master J and many more, this movement wouldn’t even have existed at the first place.Through observation, starring through the lenses of this art-form, I can see what Martin Luther was talking about, Dreams! Hip Hop taught me how to dream, and many youngin’s out there. I cannot say it better than Biggie who once said ” It was all a dream”. Growing up, who hasn’t had posters of Jay z, Pac and LL Cool J? Even to these days it a still a custom or tradition for the aspiring young rappers to have their A-List MCs on their bedroom walls.

Within a Hip Hop culture is where one finds extension of himself or herself, where one start to question his identity, and engage actively with his or her surroundings. One of the Hip Hop pioneer, Afrika Bambataa! once stated that the fifth element of hip hop is knowledge, merely meaning that you have to be aware of your surroundings, self awareness of matters such as politics, economy, social issues etc. Artist like Nas, Talib Kweli, Kendrick Lamar exemplify the essence of knowledge, dropping undeniable knowledge that is impeccable. Big brand companies now market their brand through this culture and earn fortunes through this art form. For thus, allow me to say “Hip Hop, My Personal Savior”.
