John Legend thanks Kanye West for helping him get signed. John Legend doesn’t think he would have handled a record bargain if not for Kanye West. The 37-year-old vocalist is perpetually “”appreciative”” that the “Popular” rapper appreciated his music and marked him to his record name GOOD Music as he doesn’t think he would have inked a noteworthy arrangement without his coaching.
Talking on the Honda Stage at the iHeartRadio Theater in Los Angeles on Friday (02.12.16), he said: ”I don’t know whether I would’ve gotten marked to Columbia and Sony without [Kanye’s] assist and his work with me on my music in those days. so I’ll generally be appreciative to him for that.” It comes after the ‘Customary People’ hitmaker uncovered he was dismisses by ”each significant record mark” when he attempted to break into the music business. ”I got turned around each real record name who I met with – including Sony [Legend’s present record label] – and you know, I needed to continue holding on in spite of the no’s and hold up till I got to yes.”
