Beast’s Experiences As One Of A Very Few Rappers Who Were Present During #VulaPresident Protests

Maraza comes through to Beast's defence

Beast’s Experiences As One Of A Very Few Rappers Who Were Present During #VulaPresident Protests. Last week got a little bit hectic when Durban based artists decided to join forces to demand the president to increase audience capacity on live shows.

Rapper Beast alongside the likes of Tira, Dladla Mshunqisi & Duncan to mention a few were all up in arms chanting for the 70% capacity rate at booked venues. This outcry comes right after the president relaxed the Lockdown rules by allowing at least 50% of the people in clubs and concerts. Having been unable to regulate proper income in the past 6 months had artists take drastic actions to be heard.

The protest escalated to a point of mad crowding leading to police officials arresting certain artists including Beast and shooting rubber bullets. While others ran, rapper Beast stood up for his word and wasn’t about to let anything redirect his core objective.

“Imagine Being Judged For Standing Up For What YOU Believe In, Something That Affects YOUR Livelihood & YOUR Loved Ones?? ??‍♂️ Where’s The Reset Button? ? South Ah Needs A New Look ?? #VulaPresident,” he wrote.

Last month Beast dropped an EP titled It’s A Rap which was well received by SA Hip hop fans. Fighting for the course meant owning up to the four awards he won including for his mixtape, Global Warming, in 2012, Best Newcomer, Best Single, Best Video and Best Mixtape.
