‘Unhappy’ Sjava Reportedly Plotting To Exit Ambitiouz! Controversial record label, Ambitiouz Entertainment has been making headlines almost everyday for the past couple of weeks and it’s not been all great.

From attacking rappers like L-Tido to their never ending beef with former artist Emtee. Ambitiouz has been doing the most to stay relevant and now their arguably biggest artist is said to be planning an exit.

According to Sowetan, an industry insider and close friend to Sjava confirmed that the Award winning rapper has been “extremely unhappy” at Ambitiouz and is currently exploring ways to cut ties with the label.

It looks like it will be a while however until Sjava is free. Ambitiouz boss, Kgosi Mahumapelo told Sowetan that the recording, publishing and marketing deals that Sjava signed with the label still stood and will continue to be active for a few years to come.

“An artist or label cannot opt to renew a contract that is still active and will be for a few years to come. All three contracts are active and Ambitiouz have not requested the artist to renew any,” Mahumapelo said.

Sjava is reportedly said to be unhappy about not receiving any money from his feature on the Black Panther soundtrack in 2018 from the label.

Mahumapelo defended his label saying, “Ambitiouz have not received any form of payment from the Black Panther project to date and efforts have been made to claim revenues from the project, including hiring international royalty specialists to assist in this regards.

The Umama hitmaker and the Ambitiouz boss have reportedly had several other disagreements including Sjava apparently taking side gigs in secret and independently making money, which was not part of their signed management agreement.

Sjava has released two albums, Isina Muva (2016) and Umqhele (2018), as well as his EP Umphako under the label. He’s also won multiple awards at the SAMAs, DSTV Mzansi Viewers’ Choice Awards, Metro FM Music Awards and BET Awards under the label.

If Sjava manages to leave the label, he would have followed other rappers who cut ties with the label including Emtee, Fifi Cooper and A-Reece.

Whilst Sjava has limiting his social media presence, his last Instagram post was a shoutout to Emtee on the release of his single Johustleburg released under Emtee’s own label.
