Nasty C Shares His Top 5 Fav SA Rappers. Inspiration can originate from a variety of places, especially in the creative fields and that notion also applies in hip hop music. Nasty C as big an artist as he is now, he is one of the SA rappers who have drawn their inspiration from other big-name rappers in Mzansi.
SA hip hop has been graced with a slew of good rappers over the past decade and some have remained consistent in the game whilst others fell off along the way. In an interview with SAHipHopMag, Nasty C was put between a hard place and rock when he was tasked to list his top 5 favourite SA rappers.
The award-winning rapper admitted that he had to get the list right and that he is not going to be biased since his list is inspired by the people he grew up listening to. “I’m not gonna be biased man, this is purely based off of like the people I grew up on and the people that they drop songs while I listen to them,” he said.
Sharing the list of his favourite SA rappers Nasty C said; “AKA, of course, Maggz at a point, let me see, I want to be very careful with this one,” said the Hell Naw hitmaker. “Let me see man, definitely Proverb, definitely a hundred per cent, there was a point I was listening to a lot of Mr Selwyn, I don’t know what happened to him, K.O has to be there,” he added.
Of all the rappers Nasty C has named, he has only managed to work with AKA. Some of the rappers whom he has worked with in SA hip hop have not made it to his list, the likes of Cassper Nyovest, the late Riky Rick and others.
