Nasty C is no longer the leading nominee for the upcoming South African Music Awards after losing two nominations following investigations on two of his videos. Breaking News! Nasty C loses 2 SAMA23 nods.
After the nominations were announced, we reported that there was a lot of controversy surrounding some of Nasty C’s nominations as two of his videos, Good Girls and Don’t Do It nominated in the category Best Music Video were submitted on 24 January 2017 way after the closing date for the entries which was 31 January 2017 as required by the SAMA rules. “In light of this, the two music videos are automatically disqualified because they do not meet the criteria for Best Music Video Category. We accept the responsibility. We made a wrong assumption. We apologize to all those inconvenienced,” SAMA organizers said in a statement.
Two new replacement nominees will be announced after the auditors have verified them.
