Kid Tini mentioned that the state of hip-hop in SA is tricky because we’ve allowed things that to pass and no one wants to represent the hip-hop genre unapologetically. He also speaks on how SA Hip-Hop should not sound too far removed from South Africa.

It being South African, it not sounding too far removed from our people which is another thing that I feel like a whole lot of, especially the new wave artists don’t take into account. We represent a certain people.” Kid Tini said bodly.

He highlighted that if we look at the biggest song in the country right now it’s Big Zulu’s Mali Eningi featuring Riky Rick and IntabaYaseDubai. He mentions that if you hear Big Zulu’s song anywhere in the world you’d know it’s from South Africa.

He used the example of Mali Eningi to speak about his own album release The Second Coming to say that he feels him and his team pride themselves on creating music for the people, and they achieved that goal.

Kid Tini’s The Second Coming features Malome Vector, Blaq Diamond, Zakwe, Kwesta and many more.
