Tshego Shares His Feelings On ‘Bought Awards’
It’s currently Awards season and South African artists are not happy with rumors of ‘bought Awards’ especially rappers as it seems that’s where the Awards are mostly bought. Some have boycotted all Awards altogether. Tshego shares his feelings on ‘bought awards’.
“Most of us when we come into this we’re putting one thousand percent into our work, into the quality and for someone to just come and buy an Award and you sit there thinking, ‘what am I doing wrong?’ That time you’re not doing anything wrong, you just don’t know that on the other side money is being passed around for them to get those Awards,” Tshego said.
Although like everyone nobody has proof on these bought Awards but the rumors are enough to hurt artists who work hard. “It’s a big let down for the industry. We’re not stupid, it breaks my heart,” he said.
