Kanye West’s Childhood Friend Opens Up About Ye’s Screaming
GLC grew up with Kanye West and he has opened up about how Ye has changed. Rapper GLC, who grew up with Kanye West and was featured on Ye’s first two albums, was a guest on WGCI’s The Chicago Morning Takeover last month for an interview that was seemingly snoozed on by the entire internet. During the interview, he went into detail about West’s evolution from a member of The Go Getters trio (alongside GLC and Really Doe) to untouchable celebrity superstar. He divulged some rather telling revelations he’s had about his longtime friend over the years and referred to West as a “sponge.”
“Once you lose sight of the culture, you’re no longer in tune with the culture,” he said. “Kanye’s a sponge. Whatever he’s around, that’s what he becomes, so if you around a certain group of people on a regular basis, you begin to look like them, you may begin to act like them.”
GLC also added West has always needed the approval of the white community to feel successful, and speculated that being married to Kim Kardashian and the circus that is her life might have contributed to his fragile mental state.
