Rouge Explains Why It Was Important For Her To Feature Heavyweights On Her New Single’ ‘W.A.G’. Multi award winning rapper Rouge has become one of South Africa’s most prominent and talented MC’s and through her music she doesn’t plan to stop producing hit songs.
The Dololo hitmaker recently released her third single of 2021, W.A.G (Whatsapp Group) featuring Sarkodie and Youssoupha. In celebration of the single she hosted a Q&A on her twitter page for fans to ask her questions about the single.
A fan asked how W.A.G came about and also asked what informed Rouge’s choice of features. Rouge answered the fan saying that she was frustrated about being compared and she wanted to feature people that would that could body her and she said Sarkodie and Youssoupha are two of her favourite rappers.
“I was frustrated by everybody comparing me. And I wanted heavy weights… Literal people that could body me and also my favorite rappers. Lol it would force me to write. #WAG.“
Rouge revealed much more about the song and said that the music video is coming soon and fans should just wait on it to drop. She mentioned that she’ll be bringing the two artists to South Africa to shoot the video. She also spoke more about what plans she has after the release of the music video. She promised that more music will be dropping and she’ll be wrapping up her upcoming album.
W.A.G is Rouge’s third single of the year after the release of her Popular remix featuring new wave rappers and Gearbox featuring YoungstaCPT, Jack Parrow, and Jay. She has also been dabbling in other industries as well! She recently appeared on a Cell C advert and has also gone into the events industry. She hosted her very first event in March 2021 and is already planning another one!
