“The system isnt set up for us to build anything of our own” Says Riky Rick! King Kotini has been in the game for a while now and for the most part the rapper has been talking about how artists should stop depending on the system and build their own markets.
Independence is something that is very important to Riky Rick and he is hella blessed to be at a point where he managed to make it out of the Mabala Noise deal despite the contracts they had signed.
“I wish we had a real chance to get ahead in this country but sadly the system isnt set up for us to build anything of our own” he explained. “I dont know how we gonna do it but I know that we need to be twice as good, twice as smart and work harder than anyone to secure ourselves. We need to stop letting jealousy get in the way of us progressing. Black people turn on eachother too much. We need to PROTECT eachother. I dont have the answers. Im trying to do my best to put systems together to help a little but the people with REAL MONEY dont give a F#%K” said Riky Rick.
