Kyle Lewis Nominated 5 Times At The SA Hip Hop Awards
Kyle Lewis Nominated 5 Times At The SA Hip Hop Awards which is a major accolade for any artist. Arcade Content’s Kyle Lewis directed five of the ten Best Music Video nominees at the South African Hip Hop Awards.
Kyle is nominated for:
- Cassper Nyovest Mr Madumane
- Riky Rick x Cassper Nyovest x Anatii Fuseg
- Cassper Nyovest War Ready
- Cassper Nyovest and Anatii Jump featuring Nasty C
- Riky Rick Sidlukotini
Directing half of the South African Hip Hop Awards nominees is just the latest in a string of recent accolades for Kyle.
Mr Madumane, made with King James for Sanlam, earned a Special Mention on ididtht’s SA Film Reel, where judge Graeme Jenner from King James II praised the “awesome conceptual styling, art direction and directing.”
Mr Madumane came third at Creative Circle Ad of the Month, where Kyle’s fellow Arcade director, Lebogang Rasethaba, also placed for Operation Smile Operation45 for Y&R.
Jump and Sidlukotini were featured on GQ’s list of 2016’s best music videos – the only South African videos to make the cut.
Earlier this year, Fuseg racked up a million YouTube views and Kyle’s third SAMA nomination in three years; Riky Rick’s Exodus won a Silver Loerie; Jump earned a MTV Africa Music Award nomination; and War Ready and Exodus made Kyle the only South African director with two 2016 HotShots on Shots, the leading production industry trade.
