Tyrese Issues Public Apology & Blames Medication For Mental Breakdown
Tyrese Issues Public Apology & Blames Medication For Mental Breakdown! Actor and (sometimes) singer Tyrese Gibson headed to Instagram on Saturday (November 11) to explain his emotionally erratic behavior over the last few weeks. Following a public breakdown, Gibson evidently wanted to clear the air. During the video, he apologized to his fans, wife, friends and loved ones for his abnormal outbursts.
“11:11 today here’s my public apology – FYI contrary to false reports and narrative ! don’t have a mental illness, it was meds that was suggested to deal with the trauma of losing my daughter this way,” he wrote. “everything just changed Medication post I want you guys to know that to this day I don’t drink, smoke or on any level do I do drugs.”
The Fast & Furious staple went on to explain that he was advised to get on a psychiatric medication that negatively altered his mood and emotional stability. He said he initially sought treatment for dealing with the custody battle he’s locked in with his ex-wife Norma Gibson.
“…. because of this high stress and very traumatic experience I was advised then ultimately connected with multiple therapist and psychiatrist I had a few private meetings and this particular drug that was suggested although maybe helpful to others had an adverse effect on me and this is the reason I had a complete meltdown online,” he said. “I’m in the clear now, this is being flushed out of my system and I’m already to get back at 100%.”
Gibson had a total meltdown on Instagram earlier this month, which found him begging the mother of his child to not pursue a restraining order against him and professing his unwavering love for his daughter. Shortly after he posted the video, a child abuse investigation was dropped by family services, although he was later reportedly accused of skipping court-approved visits with his child.
