The Supa Mega would’ve turned 36 on January 28 2024 but he tragically lost his life when he was fatally shot outside Wish Restaurant in Durban last year.
Don Design, AKA’s friend and DJ is one of the people who celebrated the ethereal birthday of the late rapper. Taking to Instagram, the famed Hip Hop DJ shared pictures of him and AKA expressing that he fondly misses the Supa Mega. “Happy Heavenly Birthday Paps!🎉🕊️ Love & Miss you!” Wrote Don Design.
Don Design was among those present with AKA on the day the rapper was fatally shot in Durban. After the release of CCTV footage depicting the events leading to the rapper’s death, Don Design faced implications and criticism for his gestures allegedly contributing to AKA’s killing.
Facing significant public backlash, the DJ felt compelled to issue a statement on his birthday, revealing that he had received death threats and endured cyberbullying. “Another year around the sun, this is the worst birthday ever,” he wrote.
“From death threats to my character being assassinated on every social media platform every day. I still have to wake up in the morning to work and be able to provide for my family. None of this makes sense. don’t need any of you fake people checking up on me. I’m with my family and getting help. None of y’all can fathom half the s**t I gotta go through,” He added.
