‘Call Me A Pop Artist,’ Says AKA Explaining His Sound! For a while now AKA has been ridiculed by SA Hip Hop fans who considered him a pop artist. It seems the rapper is proud that people consider him a pop artist as he sees Hip Hop as limited.
AKA was recently in an interview on Slikour On Life where he spoke about the sound he has on his Touch My Blood album. On the album he has a number of songs which do not particularly sound like Hip Hop songs like Jika and Zone just to mention a few.
“Rap music is limited, you can’t go further, well I’m lucky enough that I can do everything, and I’d like to do everything you know. I’ve always said and I keep saying it like yo, call me a pop artist, I love that sh*t. I wish people would call me a pop artist more, people like think they are dissing me, dude I love it, I am a pop artist,” said AKA.
