The Braai Show has been marred by conflict, including a legal dispute between AKA and production companies CakeMedia and MakhuduCom following the revelation that Cassper would be taking over the show.

Taking to Twitter, AKA revealed that he has won the court case for The Braai Show ownership rights. In the same post, he mentioned that no one in the entertainment industry should be allowed to steal ideas and get away with the offense.

Special thanks to Molai Attorneys & my counsel, Adv. Tshidiso Ramogale … & thank you to the Megacy as always. Let this serve as a warning to ANYBODY in the entertainment industry, individual, production company or broadcaster, who seeks to steal our ideas. Get those coins ready.” Wrote AKA.

Rewinding back, according to a legal document sent to the SABC, AKA and MakhuduCom Media partnered in March of last year to generate programming for AKA TV. Both parties agreed that all copyright and other rights would be jointly owned by them.

MakhuduCom, unfortunately, was unable to pay for the show and, as a result, transferred all rights to Cake Media in exchange for the payment of production costs in October. AKA and Cake Media had reached an agreement and “The Braai Show” was then broadcasted on SABC1.

The SABC requested another season in February, and AKA was consulted and agreed, however, he was unable to keep hosting owing to personal issues. At the same time, AKA was not thrilled when Cake Media contacted his rival Cassper to replace him as the host of the show.
