Cassper Explains Why Music Videos Aren’t In His Budget Right Now. Family Tree CEO Cassper Nyovest has always been open about his finances with fans. In 2019 he opened up about his debt after his Fill Up Moses Mabhida concert.
Cassper recently took to twitter to explain why music videos aren’t his priority right now. He mentioned that with artists not being able to perform during the COVID-19 pandemic, music videos are certainly an expense he can cut.
He tweeted, “Music videos cost money. Sometimes, they are a waste of money. With no shows right now, they are definitely an expense one can cut. Well, that’s if you’re self funded. If you got the budget, ball out!!!“.
The award winning rapper recently trended on Twitter when fans asked him to consider a music video for his track Egyptian Cotton featuring platinum selling singer-songwriter Anthony Hamilton off his album Any Minute Now.
A fan tweeted him saying that SA hip-hop needs the music video for Egyption Cotton. The fan wrote “I still need that Egyption Cotton Video though. SA Hip Hop needs it“.
Cassper simply responded, “Eish, stress.“
Cassper has mentioned that he has a big project coming up that could possibly make him SA hip-hop’s first billionaire. The Nokuthula rapper highlighted that the project should be ready by the end of the first quarter of 2021.
He has not given any hints about what the project could be but there is speculation that it could be a sneaker collaboration with local footwear brand, Drip footwear.
Speculation sparked about the collaboration when he met with Drip’s CEO Lekau Sehoana over tea. Should the collaboration happen, Cassper will be apart of a small pool of rappers with their own sneakers.
