Nadia Nakai’s Top 5 SA Rappers. Giving out your list of the best rappers can be a difficult assignment for a rapper, especially if there are many of them. Nadia Nakai, however, was able to give out her list without contemplation because it was already ingrained in her consciousness.

In an interview with SA Hip Hop Mag, in one of the traditional questions, the rapper was asked to list her top 5 SA rappers and it could be baffling that she left out her former boss Cassper Nyovest. “My top 5 rappers, Indigo Stella, she’s hard I love her energy and she can sing and her music connection is amazing,” she said.

Nadia included AKA along with Kwesta on her list stating that she would’ve not mentioned the Supa Mega on her list if she was still associated with Family Tree even though she has been a fan. “Kwesta, my boyfriend (AKA),” she also included Da L.E.S whom she described as an iconically amazing rapper. “L.E.S is also on my top 5 he’s ironically amazing and then Nasty C,” she said.

Explaining why back then she wouldn’t declare in public that AKA is one of her favourite South African rappers, Nadia Nakai said; “I think back then it’s like I made it very clear I love his music, he’s amazing but would never have done a song with him and I said that in that interview because I wouldn’t have wanted to cause a rift with Cass when I’m signed to Family Tree.

But now that I’m not there, obviously, like I said I won’t do anything disrespectful but for me, I’m growing and I’m also experiencing new palettes and even if I wasn’t dating Kiernan if he said let’s work together I would’ve,” she said.
