“You are my mentor” Says Mo Molemi To HHP In A Heartfelt Letter

HHP is one rapper who was never selfish with the spot light and one of SA’s biggest stars Cassper Nyovest is a product of Jabba’s mentorship. Mo Melemi has since been focused on his career in farming vegetables but took time to reflect on how Jabba put him on and wrote a letter to the O.G. Check out Mo’Molemi’s letter to HHP:

“LETTER TO A MENTOR

Between 2003 and 2005 while I lived full time at bakang farm you visited me about 3 times.. the one time we went target shooting with a hunting rifles.. we also shared a smoke with my dear friend Motsamai under the stars.. the last time you came you had samples of your latest records for my listening pleasure.. then you played that wicked sample..if you see me walking down the street.. I just burst out with a mean verse..botshelo ke sera, dont be too friendly hao phela…after a long break I was officially back rapping.

The next day we drove back to jozi in that maroon tsamboghini of yours.. first stop Amu’s studio.. I laid my verse and was supposed to be heading back home as agreed.. but that same evening we drove to jazzworx to see Steve.. he played one beat from battleKat .. you asked me to record something.. I jumped in the booth..Fokof was born..yba..
I thought the track was just for us..underground as I am.. but you put it on your biggest record to date..a song I would have never released..turned out to be my break out hit…
Amantsi was a painful process..it was working out too costly and I wouldn’t compromise… we went to see over 20 producers and I went through over 500 beats ..one day you picked me up from Morafe house westdene and played a track that was initially recorded for yba2nw.. it had a chorus only… we drove to Amu again and I killed it.. it turned out to be my all time hit single .. o batshabe Manong.

You took me with you all around the world and fought me out this shell I live in… I’m only one of tens others that you touched with your generosity.. and genius..and this is your legacy forever HHP..bosso

I have never been a great friend to anyone generally.. but I’m blessed you chose me as your friend and yes.. you are my mentor..
