Nadia Nakai Responds To Jason Derulo

The ANN7 South African Of The Year Awards were very extravagant and had international acts at the event. When Jason Derulo was on stage and thought because he is famous he could get away with offending South Africans. I do understand that offence is taken not given but you gotta watch you say.

Jason Derulo found himself in hot soup after asking the crowd if they could speak English. South African Twitter had the American singer under attack and he replied saying, “”Speaking English” remark I made, was directed to a specific table. It wasn’t literal, just a figure of speech when someone isn’t responding.” Nadia Nakai went on to respond to Jason’s tweet, “well… I found it rude and unnecessary as you could clearly see we were all having dinner…”

Was this a disrespectful thing to say or people being mad was triggered by the fact that the statement came from an American?
