Nota Weighs In On Why Reason Has Been A Struggling Rapper For Two Decades

Taking to Twitter, Nota name-dropped Reason AKA Sizwe Alakine as one of the rappers who have been struggling throughout their rap career. The brash music executive claimed that the Do It Like I Can chanter has been appearing on podcast interviews explaining why he’s never made it in the rap game.

As if that was not enough, Nota also took a jab at Reason for disrespecting Christ following the release of Reazus Christ EP some years ago. “Why would you take shots at Reason? He’s been a struggling rapper for 2 decades… He’s still a struggling rapper, going from podcast to podcast explaining why he never made it. That’ll teach you to disrespect Christ!” Tweeted Nota.

Reason is one of the SA rappers who have hoped on the Amapiano wave. The rapper has emphasized the need for every artist to adapt to the ongoing transformation that occurs in the entertainment industry. “I felt the opportunity to do more with the sound because I connected more with it [amapiano]. I like how it sounds and I like how it feels. I like the tempo and how you can evolve with it,” he said as per Sowetan.

Reason is now set in stone in the Amapiano wave and the rapper has given birth to the sub-genre Rapiano in his “Alakine World” album. The body of work contains 13 tracks and features contributions from some of the scene’s biggest stars.

These include Mellow & Sleazy, Pcee, Kiyika De Soul, Zan’Ten, Imnotsteelo, Boohle, DJ Stokie, Tycoon, Felo Le Tee, Lady Du, Roiii, Strictly BK, King Jillz, Sawcy, BoiBizza, Kabza De Small, Deeper Phil, Dayjoy Skillz, Gemini Major and others.
