Not only have the fans have been airing their frustrations on social media, but the family is also battling to come to grips with losing their dear son. In an exclusive interview with You Magazine, AKA’s parents opened up about the rapper’s murder.

The rapper’s assassination was revealed to the whole world via CCTV footage outside the Wish Restaurant on Florida Road in Durban. Speaking in an interview, Tony Forbes said that he still watches the CCTV showing Kiernan being shot dead. AKA’s father went on to say that he is not investigating anything but he is just trying to see the last moment of his son’s life.

“I never stop watching it, but I’m not sure if that’s good for me,” he said as per TheSouthAfrican via You Magazine. “I’m not investigating anything. A part of me just wants to know more about that last moment of his life. Rewatching it is my way of being there,” Tony Forbes added.

AKA‘s mother said that she is avoiding watching the CCTV footage. Lynn Forbes said that the only thing she wants to remember about Kiernan is the light he brought into their lives. “I want to remember him as a light. He was a good person who brought such a light to us.” She said.

The investigations into the murders of AKA and his friend Tibz are still underway, and there has been no success in locating the perpetrators. The Forbes family issued a statement encouraging the Megacy to take heart and be patient.

“We are at a loss for words to describe our gratitude for the outpouring of love that we’ve received from the Megacy. We’ve seen people deeply hurt and angered by Kiernan’s murder and wanting justice. As a family, we empathise with the grief experienced and we understand your pain.” Reads the statement.
