S.A Hip Hop Albums To Watch Out For In 2016

2015 was an incredible year for SA Hip Hop and SA music in general. We saw plenty groundbreaking moves being made by artists such as Cassper Nyovest’s Fill Up The Dome concert, Cassper doing the Tim Westwood Crib Session Freestyle, AKA being the first ever SA artist to do the Tim Westwood Crib Session Freestyle, AKA getting BET, MOBO, AFRIMA nominations, K.O getting featured in The Source, K.O doing the legendary Tim Westwood Crib Session Freestyle and so much more. 2016 is looking like a bigger year for Hip Hop so we decided to compile a list of the S.A Hip Hop Albums to watch out for in 2016:

1. AKA

We all know the Supa Mega does not just release music because he always wants to give his fans the best work he possibly can. AKA’s 2014 release is certified Gold and contains 3 Gold selling singles. The rapper was asked when he is planning on dropping sometime last year and he said that he has plans of releasing in March 2016.

2. Anatii

Anatii has been one of the most consistent hit makers in the country since 2014 and has been involved in several artists projects. The 22 year old musician had announced that he was going to release his album in 2015 but it looks like the album will be dropping this year.

3. Riky Rick

Riky Rick released his debut album Family Values last year on the 3rd of April. The rapper sold Gold and spoke about releasing his sophomore album this year. We can’t wait to see what Riky Rick has been cooking for us.

4. KiD X

KiD X dropped what is the most distributed project of 2015. His mixtape 3/4 Pace was downloaded 500 000 times in a space of a week. X has been dropping videos some of the tracks from the project but is expected to release his debut album this year.

5. Ma-E

The King Pin has been killing the game for over 10 years now having dropped 4 successful albums with Teargas but he is now warming up and has plans to drop his debut album as a solo artist in 2016. We can’t wait to see what the legend is cooking up.
