“I didn’t even know where my next meal was gonna come from” – Emtee
If you ask people when Emtee started they might reply saying last year but the rapper has been putting in the hours for over 8 years now. The Roll Up Hit Maker has sacrificed a lot to get to this point but its crazy how everyone think it all came easy for him. Emtee is very aware of this so he always makes it a point to talk about the struggle.
The rapper gave a heartfelt speech about how he wore his old sneakers until they were non existent. The rapper had to walk to his friends place to borrow his shoes every-time he had an important meeting but when he won the SA Hip Hop Award for Song Of The year he announced that he has 16 pairs today.
Before the award show Emtee spoke about his life and how he was an unknown rapper a couple months before the night. Check out Emtee’s full speech below:
