K.O Describes How It Feels To Have The Western World Embracing African Music. K.O enjoyed a massive stint last year following the success of his hit single SETE which went all the way to become a global phenomenon. Mr CashTime’s massive contribution to African music at large earned him recognition on the global stage after getting nominated for the BET Award.

Speaking at the BET Awards ceremony, K.O declared that it was overdue for the West to begin recognizing African talent. The veteran rapper’s remarks also came in light of the Grammy Awards’ recent addition of new categories for African music. “How does it feel to have America and the Western world kinda embraced Africa and Afro Beats the way that they have?”

In response, K.O said; “It’s about damn time!” The Caracara hitmaker went on to praise BET Awards for recognising African music through the Best International Act category. “One thing I can say though, like I wanna give BET their flowers because they created this Best International category over ten years ago.”

“So to see other institutions for awards ceremonies also starting to open up like the Grammys Like last week they created an Afro Beat category at the Grammy. I guess it’s the time that we living in, Africa is now becoming the louder voice and I think it’s long overdue because so much happening over there and the world is actually really starting to shift in a way.” K.O said.

K.O was in contention for his first-ever BET Award, but the rapper lost to the Nigerian superstar Burna Boy. The SkhandaWorld boss was nominated amongst other big names including;  Aya Nakamura, Ayra Starr, Central Cee, Ella Mai, Uncle Waffles, L7nnon, Stormzy, and Tiakola.
