T.I Interview With Scoop Makathini [Video]
We have been seeing a lot of videos on instagram of T.I enjoying South Africa and it’s produce e.g The King was enjoying Durban Poison by the Beach in Durban. Scoop Makhathini had a sit down with the Atlanta rapper before his performance at the Jack Daniels Boom Town Festival.
Scoop: We have had an influx of artists from the States come through and I’m always wondering, do they go home and relay the stories that they have over here, have you heard anything about South Africa?
T.I: South Africa always presents itself as one of those magnificent places to go perform and also take time to visit. Soak in the culture, soak in the beauty of the landscape and the surroundings so-forth. It’s a pleasure to be here I appreciate being able to perform.
Scoop: Did you know that you have a big fan-base here?
T.I: I’ve seen a lot of people from South Africa in the States and they say we would love to see you. At the time, unfortunately I wasn’t in a position where I couldn’t travel outside of the States but I told them as soon as I could I would jump at the opportunity and here I am.
Scoop: As T.I with the new Trap that you are in right now, what are we going to hear from you?
T.I: This particular album is a dedication to my day one fans. It is a resurgence of Trap music if you will. We were just presenting the music that narrated the lifestyle we grew up living.
Scoop: Speaking of Trap music, where you started it from and where its at now, the style has changed , the rhyme schemes have changed. How do you feel about it?
T.I: It’s a blessing. It’s an evolution. Anytime you have something you contribute to the culture, something that takes its own shape and progresses on its own, that’s a blessing because it could have stalled out and died.
