Dakar has been in the game for a while and he is at a point where he is up there with the AKA’s and the Casspers on so many different levels. The rapper is opening for J.cole at a time where there is a lot of talk around international artists is controversial.
“There is a song I heard right after he got signed by Jay Z; I have been following him ever since and it’s just great, the fact that I am doing it for someone I am actually a fan of. It won’t feel like it’s just a job” said Kwesta.
Kwesta went on to speak about why he doesn’t mind opening for international acts: “For me it’s just another chance to showcase what I do. I just need to make sure I am well represented by whoever is in charge [the show organiser]. I have done shows before other South African artists… not too long ago AKA was having a show at Zone 6 and I opened up for him. As long as I get an opportunity to perform, I am the happiest man in the world.”
