5 Rappers Who Killed People

Many rappers have been know to have had a violent past which in some instances has been gang affiliation, drug dealing and jail time. Whilst in some instances these rappers were acquitted some actually served time for the crime. See 5 Rappers Who Killed People.

Cassidy

On April 15, 2005 three men, including Cassidy, armed with .45, .40 and 9mm caliber pistols, and an AK-47 variant rifle, fired on three unarmed men during an argument that occurred in the West Oak Lane neighborhood in Northwest Philadelphia. Desmond Hawkins was killed by a shot in the back. Hawkins’ two other friends were treated at hospitals for gunshot wounds and released.

May 10, 2005, Davis was attacked by a group of men at a house in Decatur, Georgia. Davis and his companions shot at the group, killing one. The corpse of one of the attackers, Pookie Loc, was found later behind a nearby middle school. Davis turned himself in to police investigators on May 19, 2005, and was subsequently charged with murder. Davis claimed that the shots fired by him and his party were in self-defense. The DeKalb County district attorney’s office dropped the murder charge in January 2006 due to insufficient evidence. The previous October, in an unrelated matter, Davis had pleaded no contest to a charge of aggravated assault for assaulting a nightclub promoter the previous June; at the time the murder charge was dropped, he was serving a six-month county jail sentence for this. Los Angeles rap singer Dasean Cooper, a member of Da Lench Mob, was sentenced to 29 years to life for the 1993 murder of his girlfriend’s male roommate.

On December 15, 2010, Coleman walked into 25th Precinct to turn himself in. He confessed to a cold case crime, a murder of a Queens man in 1993. Coleman had attempted to confess twice before, but was previously considered to be under the influence of drugs and incoherent. On October 19, 1993, John Henkel was shot in the chest by a .40-caliber handgun outside of James Weldon Johnson Houses on Park Avenue and East 114th Street. Coleman stated that he ambushed and shot Henkel during an attempted robbery and fled the scene throwing his weapon into the East River. Coleman’s information matched with the case and he was charged with murder. He is currently incarcerated at the Elmira Correctional Facility, located upstate in Elmira, NY. Coleman told in an interview that he confessed because the case weighed on him and he was “just trying to get things right between himself and God”. Coleman claimed that he did not know that his victim died.
