The German born recording artist from South Central Los Angeles, Quincy Matthew Hanley goes by the pseudonym of Schoolboy Q was born on 26 October 1986. He has said he wrote his first verse when he was 16, but wasn’t serious about music until he was 21. He headlined his first show on March 11, 2011, at the Key Club in West Hollywood, California. He is currently signed to Carson-based independent record label Top Dawg Entertainment. He is a member of the hip hop supergroup Black Hippy, alongside his label mate and fellow California-based rappers.
