The English rapper, Ghetts was born Justin Clarke on 9 October 1984 in Plaistow, East London. He is known for his hard hitting lyrics and intricate rhyme schemes. His music has been played on national radio stations such as BBC Radio 1, BBC Asian Network and BBC Radio 1Xtra. He is currently signed to independent record label, Disrupt. He released his long awaited debut album, Rebel with a Cause on March 2014. The track peaked at number 9 in the iTunes hip hop charts and at number 5 on the UK R&B chart. There is no doubt that the 31-years-old English rapper is definitely a rising star in the music industry.

1. Ghetts was born Justin Clarke on 9 October 1984 in Plaistow, East London.

2. He is of Caribbean roots from Jamaica and Grenada.

3. He is currently signed to independent record label, Disrupt.

4. He was a former member of the grime collective group, Nasty Crew.

5. He later went on to create the grime collective The Movement, including Devlin, Wretch 32, Scorcher, Mercston, Lightning and DJ Unique.

6.  In 2008, he was nominated for a BET award for Best UK Act along with Chipmunk, Giggs and Skepta, in the end he took home the award.

7. In 2007, he released his second, pre-album mixtape Ghetto Gospel. It was considered Ghetts’ breakthrough of that year and era, with ‘Top 3 Selected’ becoming an underground hit in its own right.

8. On March 2008, he released his third mixtape, Freedom of Speech. Many grime fans say that “Freedom of Speech” is considered Ghetto’s best body of work, especially with how dark and aggressive this mixtape was.
