The third instalment of Thebe Magugu, featuring 18 men and women, commands attention as it graces the esteemed pages of British Vogue. Within its captivating narrative, the designs delve deep into the timeless lobola tradition—a cultural pillar enriched with age-old customs and profound symbolism.

Taking to Instagram, Boity voiced her delight at being involved in this extraordinary initiative celebrating the richness of African culture. The famed rapper joined other phenomenal women such as Anele Mdoda, Nomzamo Mbatha and Ama Qamata, amongst others.

“I’m so honored to be a part of 18 of South Africa’s most iconic women and men who front the 3rd instalment of Thebe Magugu’s iconic Heritage Capsule and is now available for pre-order on www.thebemagugu.com.

“This instalment explores “Lobola”, which is a centuries old negotiation process in anticipation for eventual marriage, where the family of the groom approaches the family of the bride with an offer – traditionally cattle, contemporarily money – in exchange for the bride herself. This is meant to be symbolic rather than ownership, and the exact margins of this practice change from culture to culture.

Fronting this campaign is 18 South African leaders, each of whom have spearheaded their respective fields with their talents, skills and minds – whether its in law, film, literature, business, sports, culinary arts or art.” Boity wrote.

Teaming up with Boity is fellow rapper Priddy Ugly, whose presence brings a perfect complement to Thebe Magugu’s designs. The Ntja’ka hitmaker’s addition adds a dynamic balance to the ensemble, joining other exceptional men who have made significant contributions to South Africa’s cultural landscape.
