PICS! AKA’s Parents Take Metro FM Awards To His Grave

PICS! AKA’s Parents Take Metro FM Awards To His Grave. Lynn and Tony Forbes could never be more proud of their son Kiernan AKA Forbes, who won four posthumous Metro FM Awards.

AKA’s parents along with the slain rapper’s daughter Kairo Forbes were present to accept AKA’s awards on the night of the awards ceremony in Mbombela. The rapper won Artist of the Year, Best Collaboration Song (Lemons to Lemonade ft Nasty C), Best Hip Hop Artist and Best Male Artist.

Taking to Instagram, AKA’s parents made it known that they took a trip to the rapper’s final resting place soon after the awards ceremony. AKA’s father Tony Forbes expressed how proud he is of Kiernan and expressed gratitude to everyone who voted for his son. “Congratulations my boy! You lived your dream. I am so proud of you.❤️❤️❤️❤️ Thank you, everyone that voted, thank you sooo much! Thank you for all the love. I love you,” wrote Tony Forbes.

As AKA’s parents ascended the stage to accept AKA’s award for Best Collaboration, the Supa Mega’s mother Lynn Forbes delivered a heartfelt speech to her late son.

“Kiernan, you make us so proud,” she said. “We have come full circle from the first time you were in this very same city in 2011 for your first Metro FM awards. To the family, the friends and everybody that has been there to support Kiernan, thank you so much.”

In February, AKA was shot and killed by an unknown gunman in Durban. The rapper died along with his friend Tibz whom he was meeting on that particular night. As much as the Megacy is elated following AKA’s Metro Awards victory, the JusticeForAKA hashtag is still in full throttle. The fans and the late rapper’s colleagues still want to see justice being served for Kiernan and his loved ones.
