Slikour Speaks On How AKA Was The Reason He Stopped Rapping

The music executive decided to focus on his profession in music distribution and content production despite his past as a rapper. During an interview on Choppin’ It With Bhuda T Slikour revealed that AKA was the reason why he stopped rapping.

He said that he was indeed in the same area as AKA and that he regularly saw him play on stage as he developed. Silkour stated that it was in 2010/2011 that he asked himself if AKA was desperate for this and that he could not allow himself to move in the same sequence with him, which is how he abandoned rapping.

“When I knew that i need to stop rapping, I literally was around with AKA and he was starting,” Slikour said. “I used to see him jumping on stage and I would go yo man the way you are performing, you’re not even performing to use, you’re performing looking in the ground.”

But then I saw him grow and it was in early 2010-2011, and I said yo this guy is so hungry for this. I was like if this guy is so hungry for this, I can’t allow myself to walk in a second if I know that like I’m second because I’m not as hungry as him and that’s when I lost interest,” Slikour explained.

AKA released numerous songs during the early days of his career, and he stated that Jealousy is one of them that propelled his successful rap career.  “It was an early glimpse of the brilliance that would come to be my career,” AKA said referring to the song Jealousy.
